This super-efficient DC-powered rooftop air conditioner is one of the smallest rooftop air conditioners ever built.  With the twin-cylinder rotor compressor, the Velit 2000R Mini delivers 7500 BTU of cooling capacity and draws as low as 20A (at 12V). The unit can be directly powered by most vehicle alternators without the need for a second battery. It also has a slim profile with only 6.5” of clearance and can easily fit in the standard 14x14 rooftop cutouts.

This is a complete kit. For van installs or other uneven surfaces,  you need to purchase the sealant separately.  Sealant is not required for flat surface installs such as RV roofs.

Inside the box:
  • AC unit
  • Mounting brackets
  • Sealing gasket
  • Mounting hardware
  • Interior trim panel
  • Remote
  • 15ft wiring harness with in-line fuse (6AWG for 12V, 12AWG for 48V)
  • User manual

FAQs

Can I install an RV air conditioner myself?

While it is possible to install an RV air conditioner yourself, it is recommended that you hire a professional to ensure that it is installed correctly and safely.

Can I use my RV air conditioner while driving?

Yes, you can use your RV air conditioner while driving, but it is recommended that you only use it on generator power and not on battery power to avoid draining the battery.

What size RV air conditioner do I need?

The size of the RV air conditioner you need depends on the size of your RV and the climate in which you will be using it. A general rule of thumb is to have one 13,500 BTU air conditioner for every 350 square feet of living space.

Can I run my RV air conditioner on solar power?

Yes, it is possible to run an RV air conditioner on solar power, but it requires a large solar panel system and battery bank. It is also important to note that running an air conditioner on solar power may drain the battery quickly.

How often should I clean my RV air conditioner filters?

RV air conditioner filters should be cleaned or replaced at least once a month during heavy use to maintain proper airflow and performance.

I can't yet speak to its functionality, but I have one somewhat serious issue with its design. There's a pair of thick wires that come out the back and there's no way to avoid tightly pressing them against the unit itself or the ceiling with the bracket.

Hi Peter, we apologize for the issue and we have a new bracket design to mitigate this issue. Please feel free to reach out to our team

Running on eco, runs 360-400 watts, kept van nice and cool in Florida. My only complaint is location of large 6 gauge wires between the rods where bracket goes, meaning for tight seal I'm having to compress wires. Better location of wires would have been a 5.

Hi Dalessa, we apologize for the issue and we have a new bracket design to mitigate this issue. Please feel free to reach out to our team at support@velitcamping.com

Installed this unit on my Hiker Trailer, approximately 200 cubic feet of interior space. Unit is quiet, efficient, and more than enough cooling especially since it's mounted right over the bed. Pulls about 19A in eco mode, about 45A in boost mode at 12VDC. I think for a bigger application you might want to step up to the larger unit, but for my little trailer it's perfect. Could not be happier.
